Connect your AI assistant

GAMPEON speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard AI assistants use to work with tools. Once connected, your assistant can read these docs, write and check Lua resources, and manage your projects and marketplace items for you.

There are two addresses:

Address Login What the assistant can do
https://api.gampeon.com/mcp/docs none Read the docs and the Lua API, write and check resources, browse the marketplace and public projects
https://api.gampeon.com/mcp your GAMPEON account Everything above, plus work in your account: projects, marketplace items, preparing releases

Start with the first one if you just want to try it.

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Name: GAMPEON. URL: https://api.gampeon.com/mcp/docs.
  3. In a chat, enable the connector and ask: “Using GAMPEON, write a resource that greets players when they join.”

Signing in with your GAMPEON account from Claude (OAuth) is planned. Until then, use a client below for account work.

In ChatGPT with developer mode, create an app with the URL https://api.gampeon.com/mcp/docs and no authentication. Sign-in for account work is planned.

Terminal window
# docs only
claude mcp add --transport http gampeon-docs https://api.gampeon.com/mcp/docs
# with your account (create a token first, see below)
claude mcp add --transport http gampeon https://api.gampeon.com/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer $GAMPEON_TOKEN"
.cursor/mcp.json
{
"mcpServers": {
"gampeon": {
"url": "https://api.gampeon.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:GAMPEON_TOKEN}" }
}
}
}
.vscode/mcp.json
{
"inputs": [
{ "type": "promptString", "id": "gampeon-token", "description": "GAMPEON access token", "password": true }
],
"servers": {
"gampeon": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://api.gampeon.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:gampeon-token}" }
}
}
}

Any client that supports the Streamable HTTP transport works. Use the URL above and, for account work, send the header Authorization: Bearer <token>.

  1. Log in to the GAMPEON portal and open Account → Access tokens.
  2. Choose a template: Read only or Build with AI. Pick an expiry (30 days by default).
  3. Copy the token. It starts with gpat_ and is shown once.
  4. Store it in your client’s settings or an environment variable, never in a file you share or commit.

You can see what each token did under Account → AI activity and revoke it at any time. See Safety.
